Everyone suffers from headaches now and then, but it’s important to figure out what kind of head pain you’re experiencing so you can get the right treatment. Dr. Roshini Raj, a member of Health magazine’s Health Expert Network, spoke with NBC’s Amy Robach on the Today show about how to know what headache you have, and how to find relief.

Roshini Raj, MD, a Health magazine contributor and part of the magazine’s Health Expert Network, is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine with degrees from the New York University School of Medicine and Harvard University. Currently Dr. Raj is an attending physician at NYU Medical Center’s Tisch Hospital in New York City. She also serves as an assistant professor at the NYU School of Medicine, and she has a special interest in women’s health and cancer screening. She has published several research articles on colon cancer screening.
Dr. Raj has discussed health topics on numerous television outlets, including NBC’s Today show, ABC’s Good Morning America, CNN, Fox News, and Discovery Health. She has been quoted in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Fitness on the state of health care and other health news of the day. Dr. Raj is often called upon to explain and demystify complicated health topics.

I don’t get headaches very often, but when I do, it’s often because of extreme thirst, or hunger. Eating/drinking water usually makes it disappear!
i have headaches like everyday and there not sinus headaches. Everything makes it hurt ligtt movement sound.
I have headaches only on my left side of my head
mainly when I wake up in the morning,
sometimes when I take headache medicine it goes away
but sometimes comes back after a short time.
it hurts in my temple and my neck on my left side.
sometimes when i go to bed its hard to go to move
or sleep.
I starting with head pain in October while lifting heavy boxes at my job. I heard and felt a pop in the lower right side in back side of head. The pain immediately radiated up the head and I have had pain ever since. Also, have cervical spine issues and had two cortisone shots, but have not relieved the headache at all.
i have commmon headaches its been approx. 2 weeks every day and night i get real bad headaches to a point that my eyes get so waterie!!!! what can it be
my headaches are every month,during my period….they last about a week, from finish to start of my period, and nothing helps. i’ve tried several over the counter meds and my headaches don’t go away until my period is over.
