I would show my breasts, but only in front of girls. My sister has already seen me go topless for about an hour and she didn't mind. She thought it was gross at first, and then was staring at my breasts cuz she didn't have them yet, but then she got used to it and we were showing each other our bare breasts/nipples.

North Americans are so hypocritical. How much feminist and human right's ranting (and rightly so)have we heard about hijab's veils, and burkas? Certain strict Muslims believe that a woman, to be modest, should be covered to the ankles and wrists, as even the curve of the heel is believed to incite sexual desire in men. Thus they sexualize the arms and the legs, parts which are not considered hyper sexualized in North American culture, and condition men to respond sexually to the most mundane of female body parts.
So how is our ranting hypocritical? We do the exact same thing in North America to a woman's breasts. I'm sorry, folks, but breasts are not a sexual part like a man's penis. They are not required nor made for the sexual act. They may be USED in the sexual act, as are the hands, the lips, etc. A man's pecs are just as stroked and sucked in the sexual encounter as a female's breasts, yet no one consider's a man's chest to be a sexual part and therefore immodest because of it. If the breasts of a woman should be covered, why not her lips? These are extensively involved in sexual actions, and many men are attracted to the sight of a woman's full lips.
Let's not be ridiculous. A woman's breasts are large sacs filled with milk glands and fatty tissue, and are for the purpose of feeding a child. The fact that they have been so hyper sexualized is not due to their inherent sexualness, but due to conditioning males to believe that, like the curve of a woman's heel, they are sexually inciting. In cultures where woman went traditionally topless, such as in Africa, a woman's breasts were considered a mundane part of her body, and the sight of it did not send the men into sexual rabidity.
We have a strange, and unwarranted, cultural obsession with breasts. It is not the topless woman who is immodest, but the society-conditioned male. When, and if, breasts were regarded as an asexual part of the female anatomy, just like the male chest, whose primary purpose is for sustaining of an infant's life, this society would take a giant step towards enlightenment.
The man who demands a woman cover her breasts to prevent his own sexual excitement is no better than the one who demands the woman cover her entire body.
The 'heathen' of Africa were much farther ahead in this area than us.

@chris
(Who said to betty c:)

"This country was not founded on Christian principles. Your ‘god’ has nothing to do with this."

You never say what "this country" is, but obviously, you are not in the USA (read the declaration of independence) Canada (read the preamble to the Charter of Rights) or Isreal (obvious for those that know any history), so where are you? Saudi Arabia? Sudan? China? Iraq? South Africa?

And for the record, God doesn't care so much about bare breasts, but rather the lusting (after anything - not just a bare-breasted babe) that can lead one into sin.

In France and Canada being topless is legal but what researchers did find out is after time the guys stopped looking at her breasts and actually started looking at her face. Why is this in portent. Well once the breast was in plain site it became less of a distraction.

Adelle Shea
you have lot of good points.

Before you all make a choice on it's the law or god this and the bible said that. Remember something.

The only thing that we can change is our own mind. I cant change your's and I can give you my opinion on how I see this or that. The problem with bringing in the bible or morality or anything medical is its your translation of the word you hear or read. You put your view on the mater. Facts are so much more fun. Medically it's a good idea. Braw's can cut off blood flow to the breast. Morality has more to do with how you want to be treated. If you don't like to look at a woman's breast then just don't look but don't force them have to fallow your view on things just as you wouldn't want them to do that to you. Sounds like a bible verse. Do unto others as you would have done to you. Now why on earth would anyone try to tell anyone that there body is not a work of beautiful art. Why would anyone prevent another from feeling good about there body mind and self a steam. If your ashamed of the human body so much that you must cover it why bother looking for a sexual partner or partners. Keep your ego in check when talking about this. Remember this topic if you're a guy is not about you but put yourself in her place. What if you couldn't do something like swimming at a park. If you're a woman saying that's sick to bare your body. Why are you sick of the human body are you not human? Show some humility by saying we are all beautiful and what makes us beautiful is our difference and allow others view on life into your life will bring us all closer to understanding each other. Be of open mind to all thoughts and ideas no mater how you may see it so you can open your mind.

"Spinfusor
Breasts are sexual organs. The male chest has no reproductive function.

You may not care, but please stop using the tired argument that male and female chests are equal."

You're a moron. Fact is The only medical difference is a hormone that a guy can take to produce breast milk if that is what you was referring to with "reproductive function" Fact is Yes a man can.
